What are you giving up for Lent?

So it took me a long time to really settle on something I know I can truly abstain from and show penance and discipline during the season of Lent. I thought about a bunch of things, and at the end of the day decided that I would give up Gossip. While I never really thought of my self as a huge gossiper, this past weekend I had a chance to catch up with some old friends and I think that's about all we did lol. So Gossip it is for me, or isn't, at least until Easter. This morning I had an epiphany, and decided that I would place negativity under the headline of Gossip since they often run hand in hand. So if you see me on the street Gossiping or being Negative, point me out and tell me about myself. I'm sure it will be a hard sacrifice, but nothing in comparison to the sacrifice Jesus made for me. I am only human, but I can try. Prayerfully I will make it through with a new perspective on life and my spirituality. One day down, thirty-nine to go.
