Tea Party Candidate for Illinois 52nd District states that Minority Men differ from Minority Women in a Key way. “The minority men find it more lucrative to be able to do drugs or other avenues rather than do education. It’s easier”.
He made this statement just seconds after stating that “most minority women, either the single parent or coming from a poor neighborhood, are motivated more so than the minority men”.In fairness, he later stated that the state had to provide other incentives other than sports to encourage minority men to pursue secondary education.
You have to be kidding me Al Reynolds. While the statistics may be true, to suggest that minority men (read Blacks and Hispanics) would rather sell drugs then pursue education, and later that the only incentive minority men have to go to college is in hopes of a professional athletic career, is insane and does an entire injustice to every educated Black and Hispanic man in this country.
Then to state that the “poor women”, meaning Black and Hispanic Women, “have to support them” and have the audacity to chuckle and laugh, is like a smack in the face to Black and Hispanic Women everywhere. While I may still be undecided on who I’m voting for, I know for sure, a vote from me you will NOT get. That’s speaking as a college educated Black woman raised in a single parent household.
Because suggesting that the only way to get a minority man to go to college is through sports is just some Sssh….you just don’t do.

He is just a stereotypical white man assuming that he knows what the struggle is like. He thought he was doing a good thing but he definitely failed at that.
