As if we needed another reason why Derrick Rose should be the 2010-2011 Season MVP, tonight versus the Pacers he proved himself once again. With 38 points at the end of regulation, Rose single handily brought the Bulls 5 minutes closer to a Win, with 3 clutch free throws tonight in a 102 tied overtime trip. With the clock winding down in regulation, no where to go, Derrick Rose went for the prayer and the 3. Defending our future MVP, Indiana's Collison attempted to stop 'His Majesty' and went for the foul, send 'Sir Clutchness' to the line for 3. And of course he makes them with 5 minutes to play in Overtime.
Unfortunately for the Bulls, we couldn't pull it all together and sink shots in overtime. Doing everything he could to end the scoring drought and stop the Pacers, Rose fouled out with 24 seconds left to go in OT. Becoming the first division team to claim 108 - 115 win against the Bulls, the Pacers snapped the Bulls win streak at 8.
But that doesn't negate or diminish the skill set of the Prince of Chicago, Derrick Rose. Having to hit 3 free throws at the end of a game to pull your team back into it is a lot of pressure, but he did it. And if there was ever any question which player should walk away with the season MVP trophy, Derrick Rose proved it tonight with 1.2 secs left in Regulation.
