WTF is the World coming to? A 2nd Grade teacher at Markham Elementary school in Oakland California has been placed on Administrative leave, after the principal became aware of the 'extra curricular' activities taking place during "story time". Now before I go any further, I want to be very explicit in stating that the teacher purports he did NOT facilitate or participate in any of these activities, nor was he aware that any of it was going on. While he has been suspended of his duties at the school, no claims, or charges have been made to implicate any sexual wrongdoings by the teacher. However, at this time he has been suspended for a lack of supervision pending further investigation.
While an investigation should definitely take place to determine where the Teacher was while all of this was happening, an investigation should also take place to determine how these two young 2nd graders even know how to perform such an act. What is really going on at home when parents are suppose to be going over homework. This incident just goes to show that parents have to be more aware of what their children bare witness to.
